Why Is It Important to Tithe?

There are many reasons for a believer to tithe.

Tithing is a test. Can you trust God with all areas of your life, even your finances?

Tithing is a way to receive God's blessings for our lives. In Malachi 3, God says the people have robbed Him by not giving their tithes (which means a tenth of your income) and withholding their offerings. God says to test Him and see if you give what you owe, then He will open up the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there will not be enough room for you to receive it all. I don't know about you my friend, but i want the blessing of God upon my life. I certainly don't want to rob God, when He is the one from whom all blessing come.

Giving is also in the new testament. Luke 6:38 says to "Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over shall men give unto your bosom." This is stating that the more we give, the more we receive. Matthew 6 talks about when you give, give it unto the Lord and He will reward you. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 says that  when we sow sparingly, we shall also reap sparingly; and when we sow bountifully, will also reap bountifully.

A lot of believers ask if we should tithe on the gross or the net. Here is the fact of the matter. You can not out-give God. You will never give God too much. The more you give the more you will get in return.

The bottom line is: don't rob God! He will get it one way or the other...so be  a cheerful giver and  watch God open the windows of heaven in your life.
